Notorious RBG: SHERO

Can we pause for a minute and reflect on the outstanding stamina and strength of our oldest Supreme Court member, Ruth Bader Ginsburg? The woman recently bounced back from three fractured ribs and then kicked a third cancer in the butt. The woman is, thankfully, unstoppable.

On November 8th, it was reported that Justice Ginsburg was in the hospital after falling in her office and fracturing three ribs. Admirers and supporters around the country flooded twitter with well wishes and offers to donate ribs. Luckily, she was back quickly to work without needing any rib donations.

On December 21st, Justice Ginsburg underwent surgery to remove two malignant growths in her left lung. This is the third cancer she has been treated for. And while she was there, she continued to work. She cast a vote against Trump's proposed asylum restrictions and the Supreme Court ruled against his request to restore newly implemented restrictions that would block some immigrants who crossed the southern border illegally from applying for asylum.

With her own life on the line, she continues to serve her country and those who are also at risk. Not even cancer can stop her from working. She's known for never missing a day of oral arguments in her 25 years sitting on the court. She's also known for her vigorous work-out routine, which hopefully will keep her in good health for many years to come.

She's proved she's a tough cookie, and even tougher on discrimination. We're lucky to have her sitting on the Supreme Court. She serves as an example to all of us to work hard, play hard and do good.
